Device: CGDI Prog BMW key programmer
Function: BMW Data repair
Explanation:
Supports modifying ISN, VIN and frequency in the CAS data
Supports modifying the ISN, VIN in ECU data, N13, N20, N55 and B38 DME
The corresponding data type must be manually selected to modify the corresponding data otherwise an error will be reported.
How to know whether CAS data is encrypted?
Use CG pro to read CAS data (CGDI BMW can read CAS4/CAS4+ data)
CAS1 CAS2 CAS3 CAS4 modify data
The CAS data is not encrypted, the CAS ISN and ECU ISN are the same.
How to replace CAS data?
The CAS data of car A is broken. You can find car B CAS data same model as car A. We only need to change data of the frequency of the CAS data of car B, VIN and ISN to be the same as car A. Remember to add key again.
Example: CAS3 data repair
Select data type: CAS3
Load eeprom data (i.e CAS3 0L01Y eeprom.bin)
change/modify VIN and CAS ISN
Save data
CAS3+ CAS4+ modify data
CAS3+ CAS4+ data is encrypted
For example CAS4+ data repair:
Select data type: CAS4
load eeprom data (i.e CAS4+ 5M48H.bin)
The current data is CAS for encrypted version data. Do you need to decrypt the ISN?
Click “No” will show you CAS ISN
Click “Yes” will show you ECU ISN
You will be tipped to put the key of the original car into the CGDI BMW coil; At this point, the car key of the data itself should be put in. (car A puts car A key, car B data put car B key). Or enter the corresponding key synchronization code. (if the key synchronization code is entered incorrectly).
Input the car key in the coil of cgdi bmw
Enter the original key data and confirm
How to replace encrypted CAS data?
Car A CAS data is broken, you can find car B CAS data same model as car A. You need the ECU ISN of car A, because the encrypted data CAS ISN is not consistent with car B, then change the data as car A at the same frequency and the VIN.
That is, after loading the encrypted data of ar B, click No to show the CAS ISN of car B, and then write the ECU ISN of car A to the location of CAS ISN. Then modify frequency is the same as car A.
Save data, write it to car A. Remember to add key again.
Check key information
Select data type: CAS4, load eeprom data
Press not to decrypt the ISN Select remote frequency: 868MHz Manually modify/change VIN and paste DME ISN here
Press Yes to encrypt ISN
Select Modify ISN function
Press Yes to encrypt ISN
Save data
N13 N20 N55 B38 modify data
1. Load data, can not modify the frequency, other can be modified normally. After modification, save the data.
For example: repair N20 data
Select Data type N20 and load data
Modify VIN and ISN
Save data
2.Check if the data is incorrect
You can load the data and the wrong place will show up
3.Calculate DME ISN, CAS ISN and Key Code
Supports CAS4+ FEM BDC version and calculates a third data based on two data sets.
Example: calculate CAS4+
Paste DME ISN and key code, press Calculate
Calculate EWS ISN code success
Modify key code will calculate different ISN
4. Error report
An error is reported when the loaded data and the selected data type are inconsistent
An error is reported when the loaded flash data
Question:
2012 BMW X5 DME, possible to clone it with Yanhua mini acdp, by transfer the whole file to another DME?
Solution:
The DME is N55 (MEVD172) type. Yanhua ACDP will clone the DME.
Device required:
Yanhua Mini ACDP host
Procedure:
Step 1: Prepare ACDP, OBP+ICP adapter, interface board and DME
Step 2: Connect the interface board correctly to the DME interface as shown above
Step 3: Shorten the CAN resistor on the OBP + ICP adapter to the “CAN-R Join”
Step 4: Connect the ACDP, OBP+ ICP adapter, interface board and DME
Step 5: Run ACDP App
Select BMW->ECU Clone->Fxx->N55(MEVD172)
Follow ACDP Mini guide to Read/write EEPROM, then Read/Write PFLASH.
Xtool supports BMW EWS2 EWS3 EWS4 all keys lost and add key, but not by OBD2. You need to read D-FLASH/EEPROM data first.
Device required:
Xtool x100 pad2/ x100 pad3/x100 elite/ h6 pro/autopad
Xtool KC100 adapter or KC501 chip & key adapter
Xtool BMW EWS2/EWS3/EWS4 User Manual
First of all, remove EWS unit and backup D-FLASH/EEPROM data with chip programmer
Connect xtool tablet with vehicle via OBD socket
Enter Immobilier function->BMW->EWS
Read Key Info: this function can read data from key chip. If doesn’t work, it means key chip is incorrect or locked.
Click “Read Keys Info” Connect KC100 or KC501, and enter activation page Put key chip inside KC100 or KC501 Check if the key has been placed in the coil Reading key After read key info successfully, it will prompt you to input folder name of the key It will show key data info as below Write start key: This function can generate dealer key. After dealer key generation is completed, put chip inside key and manually program the remote to start the car. Click “Write start key” menu, it will prompt put a new key into KC100 or KC501, click OK to continue It will prompt you to choose D-FLASH or EEPROM data (Note: this data is the backup data which are read through EWS disassembly) It will prompt the VIN and EWS type of current chosen D-FLASH/EEPROM data, click OK to continue After D-FLASH analysis, it will show key info. Choose an unused key position, and then click “Write start key” Creating key Make dealer key success. When key is programmed successfully, put key chip back inside the key and manually program remote, then it can start the car.
Done.

All right, today we’re going to be going through a crankshaft position relearn sequence on a Chevy Colorado or a GMC Canyon. My trucks of 2005 GMC Canyon with 3.5 liter, so the first thing we’re going to do today is to have our GM Tech 2 scan tool to setup here, we’re going to plug it into the DC port down here and we’re going to have the obd2 port hooked up down here. Once we have that all hooked up, first thing we’re gonna do is we wanna start our truck and you want to have it warmed up. You can see I’m about probably at 160 right now I think the bare minimum is about 155, so I’m just above the line of what we need to be.
So we’re going to start it and then once we do that we will hit the power button down in the GM Tech2 scanner. It will run through its initialization sequence here.
Go to “Diagnostics”.
Select my year “2005”.
Select “LD Trk, MPV, Incomplete”.
Enter “GMC Truck”.
And the product line code for our trucks is a S. So if you have a Chevy Colorados can be the same thing, it’s going to be Chevy truck and then S.
Canyon.
Going to “Powertrain”.
3.5L L5 L52.
Speed automatic.
Special functions (We wanna go).
Crankshaft Pos. Variation Learn.
Continue.
Continue.
Make sure your parking brake set, it says “Do not apply brake pedal”. We’re going to click “Enter”. It says apply and hold brake pedal so I’m going to apply the brake pedal down there, turn your AC off and vehicle must remain in park or Neutral. Press Enter to continue.
It says “Accelerate to WOT. Release when fuel cutoff occurs.
And try to get both screens here at the same time. You see it already shut me down.
Test in progress.
Learn status: learned this ignition.
Perfect, it’s exactly what we want.
Press “Exit”.
We wanna go “Diagnostic trouble codes (DTC).
DTC information.
DTC Info.
No diagnostic trouble codes.
Back to “Diagnostic test status”.
Clear DTC information.
Yes to continue.
Go back to “DTC info” and no diagnostic trouble codes.
Conclusion:
You just fix the problem, you’re done.
And that’s how you use GM Tech2 do a crankshaft position relearn on a 2004 – 2012 Chevy Colorado /Canyon.
Thanks .
