Does what it should. But there is minor issues.
UPDATE: Updated the scanner last night and now temperatures seem to be working properly, raising from 3 stars to 4.
Pros: The product is cheap and does do what it says it does. Will alow you to control all the sensors and lights on the vehicle if you have the add on for that manufacturer.
Cons: slightly glitchy, also the temperature and pressure measurements are no where near accurate. Not sure why. I updated the product via the computer. I think I will be keeping the product due to its functionality and price. But there is minor issues which are kind of annoying. But compared to the price of a name brand scanner I still think it’s an alright purchase.

works well
for what I need to use it for it works well. tool is easy to update. I dumped the software for GM into the tool. was easy to do. the sard reader that comes with the tool is a piece of crap I have my own micro sd to USB adaptor that is much better then the one in the kit with the scanner. I have used it a few times. I wish it had a broader reach of abs/sir trans and ecm data it’s hit or miss whet it will read and not the same on every vehicle.
w b: 4.0 out of 5 stars
great service, decent tool for the price
It does pretty much what it says it will do however it will not program the VIN into the PCM on GM products, so if replacing PCM you will still need a mechanic or someone with the right tool, it will set cam retard on GM products and is all around a very helpful tool
xxxx: 4.0 out of 5 stars
You will need to purchase additional software.
Product works well. I used it to perform an automated brake bleed on GM and exhaust system diagnostic. Creating an account and product registration are a chore.
ty92003: 4.0 out of 5 stars
affordable and works
great tool it is a generic/factory scan tool if that makes sense. it goes into all the different modules and performs calibrations and tests it also graphs from the data stream but it does not do any type of flashing (module updating). this is a great tool for what it does.
mr.nieves: 4.0 out of 5 stars
Worth it for the money
It’s definitely worth it for the money it did exactly what I needed to do the quality is decent it’s not shop quality and the CPU processor is slow and can hang or crash it’s trying to do too much. controls are really basic everything is pretty much self-explanatory and this is a good substitution for the GM Tech 2 if you are like me a DIY’rt
Eric Ellcey: 5.0 out of 5 stars
This thing is a real nice unit to own to do things beyond checking codes. I love it!

Best scanner I’ve ever had
For the pricethey want for this of you are either a shade tree mechanic diyer or have your own business I’m telling you this scanner is what you need this thing does everything any high end scanner can do literally. You name it can do crankshaft variation relearn, module tests graph info live data injector tests ,transmission, everything and anything for any brand of car you want first software is free I picked gm you can have 5 on at once gm covers saturn Isuzu Daewoo and any gm plus the first 3 years of updates to that software is free. This is a great scanner highly recommend customer service is outstanding
farme962-3: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Works like a charm GM version
Absolutely money well spent and already paid for itself. I’ve been a shade-tree mechanic for 15+yrs and always had to take vehicles with check engine lights on to a friend’s shop and get the codes pulled and then make repairs. I got the GM version to scan 2002 Chevrolet 2500 I recently put a motor in and with this tool I was able to figure out the fuel purge solenoid was bad and also re-learn the crank position sensor. Fixed both and couldn’t be happier. Will be down loading other manufacturers software to broaden vehicles I can use it on.
(Thanks to all customers for the reviews above)
Purpose & problem: I have been remapping a 2006 BMW M5 E60. I have heard the MPPS is not suitable for this so decided to buy a better tool. Not sure if I should go for a Galletto v54 or the Kess V2.

Look here: Honda diagnostic system HDS HIM reviews
Review: Honda HDS HIM
Honda HDS (Honda & Acura Diagnostic System) is the latest diagnostic software for Honda vehicles. Diagnostic functions available for vehicles of HONDA/ACURA from year 1992 to 2007. Test coverage: Dynamical, Body, Chassis, ABS, SRS, Anti-theft, etc. HDS supports CAN BUS system, and it can re-program the Auto ECU.
HIM is the host with double board (see picture below).
So Honda HDS is the copied software load on a third-party HIM firmware. You need an RS-232 port on your computer. If your computer doesn’t natively have one, you’ll need a USB->RS-232 adapter. Software updates frequently.
I have successfully used the TPMS features, CKP relearn, idle relearn, ECU reset, and cleared DTS faults. I believe this thing can data log, reprogram gauge clusters, and reprogram the immobilizer for new keys, but have not tried these things yet.
Review: I used HIM for Learning the Throttle Position
I finally figure out how to get my HIM diagnostic tools running. Thanks Jibberjabbs.
So I bought this off obdii365.com exactly months ago,
Good seller, fast shipping, and I haven’t tried it until yesterday.
I install the software following the video, but somehow I can’t get the unit to connect.
I do notice that when I plug in my USB to Serial adapter that came included with this unit, the laptop told me fail to install driver… so after doing deduction, I finally realize the problem is the USB to Serial Adapter.
I tried to install the driver that came with the USB to Serial Adapter, but the software have error, could not even start installing it.
I look at the website and try to download from the manufacturer, but each time I click download, it is block by the host/manufacturer website…
what the…
so I think,… hmmm there must be only handful of chip manufacturer for this device so I RANDOMLY download several USB to Serial adapter from internet and finally by trial and error (luckily I am right on the second download), I got the serial driver to work!
Ok.. so I test again and I still fail to connect,
so I look at the best source for Honda Fit which is… FITFREAK hahaha…
and got into this thread and realize that Jibberjabbs point out, I need to set to
COM1
Yes, that is the key COM1,…
and I just finished using this HIM for Learning the Throttle Position again after installing the MaxBore Larger Throttle Body !!!
I am so relief and happy now…
because this open another way for the Sprintex install that will need this tool!
Review: very powerful; you can everything the dealer can
So I have had a lot of question on my HDS clone setup lately so I thought I would do a bit of a review. HDS is a general term for Honda’s Diagnostic System. HIM is the specific tool (Honda Interface Module). Honda has had several tools, the HIM is two or three generations old, but the newer ones are not cloned yet (GNA600 & MVCI).
So if you don’t know there are all kinds of clones of Honda’s HDS HIM diagnostic system out there on the internet. I made a leap of faith and picked one up online, sent from China about two years ago to reprogram my TPMS sensors (I hate you Honda for this TPMS crap system). I was hesitant because it did not state that it supported my 2011 Fit. The cracked HDS software version that came with it did not cover my car, but I was able to find a newer version (V2.024.05) on the internet that worked. I have successfully used the TPMS features, CKP relearn, idle relearn, ECU reset, and cleared DTS faults. I belive this thing can data log, reprogram gauge clusters, and reprogram the immobilizer for new keys, but have not tried these things yet.
Here is a pic of mine if it helps.
It came with various connectors for self-verification testing too.
So the HDS only has a RS232 DB9 serial port (no usb),and most laptops don’t have them anymore. The adaptor will plug into your laptops usb and replicate a RS232 port. You will probably need a RS232 to USB adaptor too. I have always had good luck with FTDI adapters. Future Technology Devices Intl – UC232R-10 The HDS will only connect to com port 1. So you may have to change your com port assigned number when you use a usb adapter. I have only used the HDS on a windows XP laptop so I cannot confirm this works on newer Windows.
Here is another possible option I have not tried yet, but would love to because it is much cheaper and uses USB! Looks like it uses the same HDS software!
http://www.obdii365.com/wholesale/drewtech-honda-mongoose-tool-1702.html
And if you are going to do TPMS you might want to look at triggering tools, if not you have to deflate and re-inflate a wheel to trigger the sensor. Our TPMS sensors only only transmit when they are spinning over ~26MPH, detect a rapid pressure change, or are triggered with a 125Mhz signal.
Overall this is a very powerful tool that lets you do about everything the dealer can!
The factory service manual pretty much explains how to use the HDS in all of Honda’s trouble shooting procedures. All of the things I have used have matched up, like TPMS and CKP relearn.
Here are a few more things it claims to do:
Honda functions include:
• DTC reading and clearing • Snapshot function (capture data relative to a trigger event) • Vehicle data display (value, line graph, or bar graph formats) • DLC locator diagrams • Data list display (real-time display of ECU parameters) • Onboard tutorial • Generic scan tool runs basic tests on non-Honda/Acura vehicles (HDS Tablet and Pocket Tester only) • Control module update functions (HDS Tablet and Pocket Tester only)
